Classrooms to careers

Classrooms to Careers

In 2012, the DC Police Foundation implemented a summer internship program for DC high-school students, the Stars Plus One program, which was later renamed, Classrooms to Careers. The goal of the program is to match each student, based on their field of interest, with an employer in a high-end office environment to gain career and life skills and to have a meaningful internship and employer mentor.  Fact Sheet

Testimonials
"The Classrooms to Careers Program through the DC Police Foundation really opened my mind to a vast array of potential careers and opportunities available. I was able to network with numerous people and organizations and I know that I am destined for success!" -- Paige Lispcome, Rutgers University

"The Classrooms to Careers summer program has introduced me to some internships which helped me toward my new career path which is the MPD Cadet Program. I learned that I should never give up on ANY opportunity even when the odds are against me. You'll never know if that opportunity could be in your future".  -- Taylor Butler, MPD Cadet
